There’s no mistaking it. One of the hottest trends around is sewing! From modern quilting styles to home dec and now even to personal clothing, I’m noticing a lot more interest in sewing everywhere I look. Here are three of my favorite websites for information and inspiration!

Sew 4 Home

This has become my “go to” website for sewing inspiration. Most of the projects are for decorative home items like quilts and pillows. There are also cute ideas for babies, tote bags, etc. I love the way project directions are clear and concise along with lots of great photos. The “Tips & Resources” tab has a lot of basic sewing information including everything from sewing on a button to basic sewing machine maintenance.

JayBird Quilts

This website/blog is by a young fabric artist by the name of Julie Herman. There are many great modern quilt designers, but I really consider Julie to be a pioneer in this area. Her website shows off her patterns and sense of style. It also includes guest posts and links to other great blogs. The tagline on the bottom of her web page reads “One girl on a mission to make life better with fabric!” That’s a great summation of her enthusiasm for the art of fabric and sewing.

All People Quilt

This website is from the publishers of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. They also publish my very favorite sewing related magazine, “Quilts and more.” The website is filled with patterns for quilts, tote bags, etc. There are even videos to show you how to do some of the techniques.

Check out these websites and be part of the sewing trend!
